Wearwell founders Will Laughton and Alex Joynson

Alex

Alex Joynson has worked in sales and marketing for a number of international companies. A self-confessed sports obsessive, Alex rowed for the Great Britain junior and university teams and was a British Universities champion whilst at the University of London.

For Alex, launching Wearwell not only realises a passion to start his own company, but also builds on great family legacy. The original “Wearwell Cycle Company Ltd” was established in Wolverhampton in 1889 as a bicycle manufacturer and owned for much of the early to mid-20th century by his great-great grandfather and great-grandfather respectively before its eventual sale in the 1960s. Alex aims to use the Wearwell brand as a platform to promote cycling and the major health and lifestyle benefits that this brings.

Will

Will Laughton is an ex international oarsman and all round sport enthusiast. Will met Alex at University in London when they were rowing for rival boat clubs.

Since university, Will has held several roles within procurement at a number of high profile multinational corporations.
Will was diagnosed with Leukaemia in 2012 and having had a bone marrow transplant in the same year, turned to cycling to help his recovery. Fast forward to the present, he has represented the GB Transplant cycling team winning medals at British, European and World championships. Will is determined to develop and spread his love of cycling and its associated benefits through the Wearwell Cycle Company.
